Intercooler Boost Tubes / hardpipe kit

We are happy to provide you with our intercooler Hard Pipe kit. There are a couple of performance flaws in the factory intercooler plumbing.

1. Rubber - The rubber expands under a load. When the boost kicks in the hose expands by about 25%, more when they are hot. This causes the turbo work harder and also provide you with less boost pressure. By installing metal tubing, you will notice your boost go up on a stock car.

2. Restrictive - The factory plumbing chances diameter multiple times. In fact it even has a muffler in it! I have never scene this before but yup, it has a muffler. This causes a restriction in the flow, there is also a bottlneck in the cold side pipe (throttle body side), you can see where the sound generator "T's" into it. With our kit we can the restriction. This will give you a cleaner throttle responce and you will also get better flow under hard full load.

3. Sound Generator - Sound what? Yup thats what we said when we saw this funky thing that was plumbed into the firewall. One you remove it you toss it as far as you can and dont look back! Honestly i have no idea why they placed this piece on the car? It makes a sound which is fed into the firewall. The generator has a valve inside which is a potention for boost leaks if you end up raising the boost in the future or changing turbos.

4. BOV - A blow off valve provides zero HP, nothing, nada, zilch. Most people purchase it simply for the sound with out knowing what it really is for. Well it is time to EDUMICATE the masses:

The turbo can spool up to 100k rpm at times under high boost! When you let off the throttle the air needs to go some place. The air backflows into the turbo slowing it down so when you get back on the throttle there is a lag that you feel before it builds up pressure again.

The OEM surge valve will help unload this pressure during a shift, however being that its controlled via electronics vs actual pressure it does not operate as quickly. Also an aftermarket BOV is able to handle higher boost pressures with out leaking.

PERFORMANCE- With the upgraded BOV installed you will notice a quicker recovery in boost. For example, say after your shift it takes 200rpm to fully hit your full boost gain, with a BOV you will get back to full boost about 100-150rpm sooner vs having the stock one.

I recommend you leave the stock surge valve alone and use it in conjunction with an aftermarket, you will get better performance because you will have a valve both on the cold side and the hot side of the system.

OPTIONS:

Below you can order the piping. If you order the piping with out a bov i will not be welding a flange on the pipe because you will then have a serious leak in the system.

I make everything in house so if you have a special request etc ill do my best to see if I can bang it out for you. Right now i can offer you black and white, my powdercoater does it pretty quick, however if you want another color it will take a little longer due to the setup.

On check out, the options will not be added to the order, I will do it on my end.
